Coming off depo, help !!!

I only had one dose of the depo shot and saw that it wasn't for me because of the crazy side effects ( vaginal irritation, change in discharge). I took it because I have heavy periods and excruciating pain. Since getting of it have had some brown discharge which I know is normal, but from time to time my vagina feels irritated although I past the date for the second shot . Is this normal?
