Cupcake frosting help?

I only have 3/4 cups of powdered sugar for frosting yet the recipe calls for 1 1/4 cup! What can I do? Can I just use the 3/4 cup or anything I can add into it to replace like regular sugar? I’m not able to make my own powdered sugar. 
Also how do I measure out 1 1/4 stick of butter? I don’t have stick butter....

I wouldn’t add regular sugar. Just use the powdered sugar you have. 
When I make frosting, I add powdered sugar, a few tablespoons of milk, and 1-2 teaspoons of vanilla.

You can make powdered sugar from granulated sugar by simply blending 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon cornstarch until a fine powder. 
As for the butter, 1 stick of butter is equal to a half cup (or 8 tablespoons)
