Can constipation cause contractions?

Question

I'm 18 weeks and last night I was awake all night thinking I had to poop, I'm scared to push so I waited for it to ..ehem ...surface on its own, it finally did. Now Im still really uncomfortable and it feels like... There is something in there, is it possible my constipation caused contractions or vice versa?

If I go over 4 days without pooping, I take a suppository. It helps out so much! It takes like 15 minutes to kick in and goes right to the source! Constipation can cause a lot of issues

Short story. 
So with my first I swore I was in labor, couldn't bare the pain went to L&D 6 times. They kept me for so many hours and sent me home with pain medication 😐🤨🤔 On the sixth trip finally a Dr asked when my last BM was, go figure it was over 1.5 weeks. I was full of 💩. And it brought on cramping severe back pain and nausea. 
Once I got unplugged 😒 I felt amazing!! I went into labor 4 days later and it was a damn breeze. Hahahah constipation is no joke. 
I'm a beast with water and fruit now.

Drink a large cup of coffee and wait for it to kick in. I’ve had cramps from constipation.

Per my ob/gyn if you dont empty your bladder or have bowel movements as needed its can cause cramping. I learned that the hard way with my last baby. So this time around i do not wait. And if it hurts or i cant ill literally snack on prunes and drink water while resting till it kicks in. Coffee helps too. Soon after i drink a cup in the morning itll make me go even if its only a little. Hope that helps.
