I have never had a job but I need money now but I can’t work. I was in an accident two years ago which has left me incapable of working. I’d like to start paying rent soon since my mom is struggling to pay the bills. I thought disability was something you had to pay into? But idk. I’m 19 if that makes a difference.

I know I need to apply for it if I want to get it. I’m just asking if it’s going to be a waste of time or not since I’ve never had a job. I thought disability was something you get if you pay into it but I’m not sure.
