How do you calculate due date?

Okay so I’m on baby #2. I know you usually calculate due date by LMP but I know the exact day we had sex and conceived because last month was crazy and we literally only did it once. So can I calculate my due date off December 9th or by my LMP on November 30th. My LMP on November 30th was 5 days late for some reason so it threw my cycle off. Anyway with my first pregnancy I had no clue the day I conceived but this time I do. So is it more accurate to use December 9th or November 30th.

It doesn’t matter if you want to calculate it off the actual conceived date. Every doctor is going to use your LMP instead. I didn’t understand this logic either with my first because it was the same thing, I knew the exact day. But you have to take into account that sperm can live inside you for days so the implantation date is unknown. They give you the most accurate due date with the first ultrasound by measuring the fetus.  My baby was still 9 days late! The estimated due date is just that- an estimation 😁

You want to use either the day you ovulated or your LMP. If you know you ovulated on the 9th with OPKs or BBT, then you can use that date. But if you’re only using the 9th because that’s the only day you had sex, it’s possible for the sperm to have lived inside of you for up to 5 days until you ovulated. So the 9th wouldn’t be as accurate as using your LMP.
Usually providers just stick with LMP because its most consistent, in which case your due date would be September 6.
