So I got a positive OPK on Saturday night. So my egg will be released in 12-36 hours from then. Then the egg will be alive for 24 hours?

No, as soon as you get a positive LH test the egg has already started its process of moving into the tubes. So if you are using OPKs and get positive, start bd then, you don’t have long! It’s best for sperm to be waiting for the egg, so bd before you think you’ll ovulate. The 12-36 hr timeframe is a broad range, some people only have 12 hrs from the time the egg releases to it dying. Others have longer.
