Can I just ask for Clomid ?

I’m 42 I just had a miscarriage and I feel I’m running out of time - 
Can I just ask my MD for Clomid ?

My OB prescribed it to me recently. I've had 3 miscarriages and have low Progesterone. After finding no other issues he gave it to me along with Progesterone. I ovulate each month and have normal cycles too.

Yes, you can ask,  but there are conditions. For example, before my doc would prescribe it, she made me get an ultrasound on day 3 of my period to make sure I didn’t have any cysts, as cloned can be dangerous if large cysts are present.

Usually it's something that's offered after you have had all checks with the fertility clinic/specialist (also your partner) have you tried inositol at all?

He/She will want to check your progesterone to ensure that you are ovulating. My doctor wouldn't prescribe it because I was ovulating fine. 🙄 Yours could be different and they may evaluate age differently as well!

I think most OBGYNs will not prescribe clomid, though I could be wrong. I thought I would need it and mentioned it to my dr. He said that if Clomid was something I wanted to try, he’d have to refer me to an RE.

Are you ovulating? It was prescribed to me because I have such irregular cycles and do not ovulate regularly. Clomid is supposed to make your body ovulate, so that you have a chance at conceiving naturally.
