Am I too young?

Question

I’m 18 and engaged to the love of my life. Ive been hearing from other people that I’m way to young to be thinking about having kids and others say that I’m going to regret it. So what do y’all think? Am I too young to be trying to have a baby?

I think if you’re asking for people’s opinions on your life, you’re too young. Why don’t y’all concentrate on your career and increasing skills, getting good jobs for a few years before having a child which will delay those things?

I don’t think you’re too young. If you’re going to college, maybe you should try after you graduate? It’ll be difficult juggling school and a baby. If you get pregnant while in school, continue until you graduate. Someone at work told me to continue school while my baby is still young because if I decide to go after they’re 3+ years, I will miss out on big life events(baby’s first day of school etc).

I think it's different for everyone. I will say the more stable you are the better. Financially, living situation, jobs, etc. Only you and your partner can make that decision. There will always be doubters no matter what. No matter what age you are you are never 100% prepared. I don't care what anyone says!  If you're ready, you're ready girl! Good luck on whatever you decide!

I do think 18 is young BUT, if you’ve got your life together (a job,your own place,etc..) and you understand just how drastically it will change your life and you’re ready for it then it’s no ones business but yours.. I’m not saying I agree with it but only you know if you’re ready or not.

If you’re questioning it, you’re not ready. I’m 25 and can’t imagine me having a baby back when I was 18. Even thought I was responsible and in a long term relationship. 
There’s no rush. You literally have another nearly 20 years to have kids. Live your life now and enjoy the freedom of being a young adult. 
I’d say if you owned your own house, had a car, were in your dream job, had secure income and were in a long term relationship that you had a good set up to try it you wanted. But Next to no one has this at 18 years.
