Baby tongue tied surgery??

My baby has a tongue tied and isn’t able to nurse for that reason she has her appointment tomorrow to get it cut but I’m freaking out and thinking about canceling it 😢 Anyone had this done to their baby? What was the after care like? Was baby able to nurse? Was baby in pain after? Let me know your experience please! Btw her pediatrician said she wasn’t too concerned about it affecting her speech she’s more concerned with her not breastfeeding now. She said once baby gets older she won’t have a hard time as her mouth will be wider.

My son had a tongue tie and I think he was a few weeks old when we got it snipped. My sister also had my niece get hers done a month before that and she and the dr who preformed it recommended letting baby nurse right after words and that's what I did. They swaddled him in a blanket and it took all of like 5 seconds, they handed him right to me and I started to nurse him and he was fine. They just said after word to keep an eye on it but it healed really fast and we had no complications at all. We didnt have a horrible time nursing because of it, however my brother grew up with a tongue tie and had years of speech therapy while going through school and the doctors agreed it could prevent that from happening.

My daughter needed hers clipped because of breastfeeding issues. Yes it hurts when it happens but they get over it so fast. They nurse right away after there isnt really after care. It took them about 2 seconds to clip it. Also they did it right beside me. They offered me to wait in a different room but I wanted to be with her of course.

My sister had it done with her firstborn, the recovery really didn't take long and he was much better off afterwards.

Yeah so I’ll be honest it was really hard for me personally when I had my sons lip and tongue tie clipped for nursing reasons but we also had some other issues in our way too so after the clip I still couldn’t nurse and my supply dropped a lot where I couldn’t make enough to feed him but anyways there’s going to be exercises you’ll have to do with his tongue multiple times a day my son hated it and never got used to them and he was bleeding a little after surgery and was in some pain for sure so I really had to keep up on the Tylenol after that’s pretty much the advice I can give also they went down the hall from me to cut his in another room and it was awful I could hear him screaming but I’ve learned that there’s a lot of things we run into as moms we got to do that are hard I hope you have a better experience
