“We need to man him up a bit.”
I live in Alabama and was told that my husband needs to be “manned up” because he doesn’t like to hunt or fish, because he doesn’t know a lot about cars, and because he has no interest in football.
Toxic masculinity is one reason I HATE living in the south. I don’t like to hunt or fish, I don’t know shit about cars, and I couldn’t care less about football. So why would I want a partner who’s interested in those things?
Why the fuck does it matter if he’s “manly” so long as he’s a good person, and treats me right??
It’s infuriating because I feel like my sisters, my brother in law and my step dad all look down on him, even though he’s literally the best man I’ve ever met!
