Birth Control Symptoms

I am looking into getting the arm implant. I know that some people say their periods go away and for some their period stays. I was wondering, if you still get the period symptoms even though there is no period. For example, on certain points in my cycle I am constipated and the soon after I poop like no other. Does anyone still experience things like those despite not actually bleeding? (This question goes for any birth control that affects your period)
