Micro-managing MIL
Let me start by saying she is really a gem, a very sweet woman, I’m definitely a northerner though and she is a true southerner, so we kind of have very different views on many things. She had gestational diabetes with both pregnancies, so she’s CONSTANTLY on my ass about what I’m eating, every time I see her she’s asking me “what I’m feeding her grand baby” and then when I tell her she’s all “no you need this this this and this” even if I say something as healthy as plain boiled chicken with some salt and pepper with carrots. On Christmas I had 2 mini Reece’s cups and I thought she was going to have a heart attack, the look on her face was absolutely horrified, then she got up too close to me for my liking acting all sad and concerned, with all of my husbands family around calling me out asking me why I’m eating candy, saying I’m eating too much of it, and telling me I need vegetables. Then comes back with a plate of PLAIN DRY green beans, I wanted to gag. And no, I did not eat them. I’m 11w2d and this entire pregnancy I have been micro-managed about every move I make, and what I need to wear when I’m bigger (HELLO! I’m not there yet let me figure that out when I am!) Has anybody ever felt like they were walking on eggshells around in-laws? Starting to wish I kept this a secret for as long as I could. I hate the unsolicited “advice” and STOP TELLING ME IM GONNA GET GESTATIONAL DIABETES! And stop comparing your pregnancies to mine!! Let me experience this for myself urrrgh! 😕
