What color counter tops would go with these cabinets?

Neither, I would replace the cabinets first since they are bit out dated and then focus on the counter tops. 
If you go with more of a solid wood color you would have more to work with.

You don’t need to even replace them, sand them down paint them a nice light gray and add your own choice of hand nobes on them!! Saves money and give them a completely new look

I would do something more neutral in the brown/tan family. I personally like Corian and have it in my kitchen. This is the color I have. A bit blurry but it’s the best I could find.

Is painting the cabinets an option? The honey oak is a bit outdated and doesn’t really compliment many counter options, but if you like them I’d go with a lighter counter to brighten up the space.

Here are some photos of my kitchen. The first is the before photo. I used a countertop paint, although I wouldn't recommend it if you have the money for New countertops because it's a pain in the ass honestly and it can get scratched and whatnot. I also removed the old brass handles and got new pewter ones that I believe also makes it look much better about and more updated.

What color counter tops would go with these cabinets?
