Did i miscarry?

Hi ladies, I was 2days late on my period the week before Xmas (I'm never late) i started to get very light spotting so took a test and got the faintest of lines. The day after I suffered terribly painful cramping and then lost a clot a few hours later then all pain subsided. Test the day after was again very faint but then the test a day after that was completely negative. Was this possibly a very early miscarriage?Thankyou kindly for any advice xx
