Palpitations and shortness of breath when lie on back??

I've been suffering from palpitations since 16 weeks or so. Driving me mad and then I worry from them which makes my anxiety  one on 😂😂 I have to laugh or I would cry as I know worrying makes things worse. I've been referrefld to a cardiologist so doing all the right things just in case but interested in your stories or odd symptoms.

I have been really breathless just walking up stairs to bed . Have palpitations when I am still , even skipped beats . All normal !

I was told laying on your back could also deprive your baby from oxygen as well so I would advise you not to do so either...

I had it. Turns out my iron was so low, I was out on iron supplements immediately and off they went. My energy is higher now

I get them sometimes when Im laying back but not fully on my back. I like to stack pillows and kind of recline. For me it's dehydration- how much water do you drink let day?

I had palpitations and tachycardia with my first. They're pretty common in pregnancy! I think mine were from anemia but it was never confirmed and it all went away after I had her.
I don't know if your doctor has talked to you about this, but you're actually not supposed to lay on your back after the first trimester. You have a large blood vessel that brings all the blood from your legs back up to your heart called the inferior vena cava. When you lay on your back, your baby squishes it, which makes you feel lightheaded, short of breath, and would probably be the cause of your palpations too. If it only happens when you lay on your back, you probably don't actually have anything wrong with you. You just need to stop and start laying on your side instead.

I actually had tachycardia when I was pregnant. More blood means your heart has to work harder. I was assured it was totally fine. I had a totally normal vaginal delivery and everything went back to normal after I gave birth. Side note, I had my heart looked at 2 years earlier because I was on an organ transplant list, there were no issues so they knew it was fine.
