Have any of you guys added baby oatmeal to a bottle ?

My doctor has giving me the green light to give my LO cereal / oatmeal and I want to know onions.

I did! I did formula, a scoop of oatmeal & some baby food, along with gas drops in every bottle (did have to poke a bigger whole in nippe tho for oatmeal to come thru) but i didnt add the baby food until 6months in!

I know from using this app some pediatricians are recommending this, but the AAP says don’t.

If you're going to give it to them I suggest mixing it in a bowl with formula and spoon feeding.

“Absolutely under no circumstances EVER put anything other than pumped breast milk or formula in your baby’s bottle.” Is what my daughter’s pediatrician told us when he gave the go ahead to start solids. Further research said that bottles aren’t designed to dispense anything other than milk/formula and adding anything to thicken your baby’s milk/formula is a serious choking hazard. Instead, feed baby cereal with a spoon at meal times only (or as often as directed by your pediatrician). If you’re trying to fill baby’s belly before bed so they’ll sleep longer, feed at dinner, then bath and straight to bed. 
I hope this was helpful and didn’t sound pretentious at all. It’s just really unsafe to add anything to a bottle. 😊

I haven’t done oatmeal but putting baby cereal in their bottle helps them be more full. I did it with all three of my kids.
