Vegetarians and vegans don’t eat meat. Vegans don’t eat any animal byproducts like milk, eggs, cheese etc

I grew up in Southern California where Veganism and Vegetarianism is very popular.
Vegetarians do not eat meat. Some claim to be vegetarians but eat fish which isn’t true vegetarianism.
Vegans don’t eat meat or any animal by product including eggs or milk. This means any product made with animal by products are also not something vegans can eat like Jell-O.

I’m pretty sure vegan is no animal based products at all period.  That means no eggs, no cheese, no milk since those things all come from animals. 
Vegetarians do eat eggs and drink milk and just avoid all meats.

I was a vegetarian for 20 years since birth (religious reasons). Vegetarians don’t eat eggs, fish and any kind of meat or products with eggs/fish/meat in them. Including cakes.

My mother is vegetarian and eats eggs, salmon and chocolate. Vegans can't have any of that because they don't eat any animal products
