What is plan b?

Don't judge me, i've never had education about sex and everything (I know it's horrible...) .
Is plan b the morning after pill?
It means you take the pill in the morning when you wake up after an unsafe sexual intercourse, although you took it the day before ???
Is that right?

Plan b can be referred to as the morning after pill but don’t take it literal. You have between after unprotected sex to 72 hours to take it. Each day it loses its effectiveness but if you take it within 24, it’s 95% effective and goes down from there. It is not meant to be taken as birth control pills. Those are 2 completely separate sets of medication. The plan b is where you have unprotected sex and you don’t want a baby so you take it to avoid a pregnancy. It has the same active chemical from birth control pills but it’s at a much higher dosage. Birth control pills protect you against pregnancy or avoiding a pregnancy meaning, if you take your pills on time and doing everything right with it and you decide to have unprotected sex, you’re safe because you’re taking your pills on time meaning there’s no need for plan b. It’s emergency contraceptive you take it within 72 hours after having unprotected sex. So you have 3 days after unprotected sex to take it though the effectiveness goes down the longer you wait.
