Should I try and use a tampon?

Question

I’m thinking about using them but I need real user input. I have researched it but I don’t get a clear answer. Please list pros and cons because I need advice.

You should try!it doesn’t hurt at all. I started using tampons right when I started my period because I cheer. Its super easy it just feels a little weird at first

If you want to give them a try, then go ahead. I’ve used them a bunch of times and they’re my least favorite period product. They’re really a hit or miss with me. There are times where I can insert them perfectly and not feel them, but typically, I can’t get the angle right and they’re annoying and uncomfortable. And the annoying thing about that is it hurts to remove a dry tampon so to take it out and try again with a new one isn’t pleasant. You have to be careful with using the right absorbency because if you use a higher absorbency than your flow, there’s a higher risk for TSS. A lot of people use them and prefer them, though. So it’s worth a try. They probably aren’t great for your body and vaginal health which is why I’ve started using a menstrual cup for when I need to go swimming or something like that. Surprisingly, the cup is way more comfortable, way easier to insert, can be left in longer, and I experience less leaks. If you do try tampons, I have the best luck with playtex sport.
