Back on BC after miscarriage?

Has anyone had to go back on BC after a missed miscarriage?

I had a d&c on 10/17/18 for my missed abortion at 12 weeks and 6 weeks later had to take cytotec for retained products. After trending my Hcg level it is finally back to 0 as of 12/28/18. I am still having intermittent bleeding and haven’t had a “normal” period after my d&c 11 weeks ago. My doctor wants me to go back on BC for a month to help thicken my uterine lining. I feel like this is just another setback. My husband and I have been trying for a year!
