How are you guys getting estimates on your baby’s weight?

My doctor told me that mine was measuring about a week ahead (35 weeks measuring 36) but are all of you getting ultrasounds or something to get weight estimates?

Yep it’s from ultrasounds - we’re at risk for a growth restriction so we’re having ultrasounds every 2 weeks to keep an eye on babe and make sure he doesn’t need to come out early. Had one today and his growth dropped off a bit from our last...hoping to hang on until 37 weeks 😬 If you’re not having ultrasounds be grateful, it means they have no concerns about you and your kiddo!

I get an ultrasound every four weeks bc I’m high risk I have one today and then one more at 36/37 weeks

Yes weight estimates are from an ultrasound. Week estimates are from fundal height or ultrasound. I only get ultrasounds because I’m high risk, otherwise they typically aren’t done!

Yep,my weight estimates came from ultrasounds but from what I've read/heard they tend to not be super accurate so I wouldn't worry about it

Yes I had an ultrasound yesterday at 32 weeks bc I was measuring big. The baby was right on track with where he should be weight wise. He is 4lbs 6oz right now.

I have been having regular ultrasounds due to growth and preterm labor issues. That’s when they tell me the baby’s measurements and that calculates the weight. With my other 3 kids I didn’t go through this so everything was just estimated. But never really accurate.

Yeah I get a quick growth scan at every appt so I get a weight estimate each time 😊

For me it was an elective outside ultrasound. My doc doesn't do ultrasounds after 20 weeks unless there is an issue.
