Feel like I’m boring to talk to

My bf and I don’t have much in common so there’s really not much to talk about. We go out on dates and everything but on the car ride back home, we’re always silent. We recently had an argument so everything feels even more dry than before. He works in oil refineries, much older than me, and he likes spending money. I’m more reserved, I work at a phone store, & like saving money instead lol.. what could we possibly talk about or do to bring more life into our relationship?? Help please
