When can I take baby out with me?

Wanting to do little errands here/there like the grocery store and stuff. She is a little over 1 week. If I keep her in her carrier and limit exposure to any germs and people is she okay to go out with me on this quick trips?

We took our baby out from day one. If you don’t expose them to the elements, they’ll never develop an immunity. I’m not saying let your baby lick the cart or anything but the general air won’t hurt ☺️

To be honest my baby boy was 5 days old when I took him out for the first time. It’s your baby so do what you want or need to do. My son was breast fed so I believe that helped fight against germs and things of that nature. He’s never been sick to this day (knock on wood) and he is 18 months old. As long as people aren’t touching her or super close she should be fine.

I didn’t bring my baby out until after he was six weeks old, when their immune system starts to develop according to the pediatrician.

Until 6 weeks I tried to limit my babies exposure but that just means I didn’t let strangers at target touch them (because they will try!).

If you have to then you have to but I'd try and limit as much as possible during the first month.

Whenever you want. We never kept ourselves at home. Our daughter went out in public the day we came home from the hospital. I then had family fly in when she was 1 week old and my MIL flew in when she was 1 month and both times, we were all over San Diego: many restaurants, malls, the beach, the zoo, a ghost walk, museums, coffee shops, etc. She's 19 months and still has never been sick.

My babies are preemies, but I plan on keeping them home as much as I can. Especially since I live in Michigan, and its winter here.. so not only am I concerned about cold/flu viruses but also the weather/road conditions.

I say whenever you feel ready. I took my son out when he was 4 days old.
