Phone for a middle schooler?

I’m thinking about getting my daughter a phone for next school year. She will be going to middle school next year. Do you all have any recommendations on starter phones for tweens? Thanks!

The prepay ones where you buy the minutes. Keeps them out of trouble and teaches to use their phones responsibly

As long as she is responsible and doesn't use it during class. My neice is is 10 turning 11 got her second phone and she is only in middle school.

Give them one of your old phones. Start with a prepaid just to see how responsible they will be. It’s easier to replace that than an iPhoneX and cost you a ton.
