I'm learning how to make steak for my boyfriend's birthday, all over again. I'm more excited than he is and have no clue why😐🙄. I eat a lot of seafood soooo, yeah. Since he's working all day on both jobs, instead of going out I'm making him a surprise dinner. Sirloin steak with potatoes (roasted or mashed) and broccoli (or some kind of greens). For his birthday cake, I'm making a strawberry poke cake/strawberry supreme poke cake (it's like triple the strawberries). Any suggestions on cooking it, is it better on the grill or stove or in the oven. I haven't made steak in so long because I eat a lot of seafood and vegetables. Some help would be nice, THANKS!!!

*he likes his steaks medium (how long do you really cook it about 3mins on each side?)

UPDATE:

So it's 2days before his birthday and he's giving me a hard time. Wanted me to drop off his bday gift at work last night and I told him, it's in pieces. He has no clue I'm making him a big birthday dinner. Steak (that's the seasoning I used, I work tomorrow so hopefully it's ok until thursday to cook, I just threw it in a gallon sized bag awhile ago)

... hope he loves it!!! I'm done, I put in containers because I don't feel well, I think I over did it for standing up for 1/2 hours, but I did it for him!!! I'm just waiting on how he likes it, if he likes it!
