Sooo I just started a new job in the county jail as a control room operator. My job is to open and close the doors of the unit and to keep head count of all Inmates leaving/coming into the unit. It’s very stressful and fast paced. Last night they put me on the busiest floor and it’s not possible for me to go to the bathroom without somebody there to relieve me. It was my first time on that floor by myself and I was in ultimate panic mode because there was so much going on. I’m the type of person that has to pee when they get nervous..and I kept feeling the urge to pee far too frequently to keep calling the relief person. (They have 12-14 other people to relieve for 30 minute breaks throughout the shift). I held my bladder for a long time and now I think I have a UTI or a Bladder Infection. M whole abdomen hurts and when I pee everything hurts (not burning, just hurting). My question is how would you handle the situation, because they’re probably going to put me back on that floor tonight. Would you go buy depends? If you would stop drinking before your shift, how many hours before should I stop drinking? Last night was my Monday so I’ve got 4 more days before I’m off.
