Baby shower help? First time mama.

I am expecting my first baby and dont know how baby showers work. Do I host it myself? Ask a loved one or friend to host? Or just hope somebody decides to? Sorry for my ignorance.

USUALLY a friend or family member offers to host it. If nobody offers, then just do it yourself! I would have. 👍🏻☺️

I've never heard of anyone outside of this app host it themselves. A family member and/or friend should volunteer to host it and host it, plan it, send out invites etc.
Maybe it's just what I'm used to but I'd fine it kind of weird if I got invited to a baby shower hosted herself.

That's up to you. For me, I am hoping to move into a new house by the time my baby shower is and if so I will have room to do it at my house. It would be so much easier with the presents and decorating and less stressful for me if I can do it at my house. 
If I'm not in a bigger house by then for some reason we are going to do it at my moms house. No one is necessary hosting mine (I don't think I would want someone to it makes me stressed out lol) ? But my mom and my sisters and me are super close so they are gonna help me everything.

I’m unaware of that too because I’m also a first time mom but I’ve known of people hosting it themselves and then others people plan it for them but I don’t think they asked I think the people offered. To be safe and make sure you have one the way you want I’d say plan it yourself lol

You can host one yourself, and it’s not rude, but typically a friend or a mom figure is the one who hosts it. My family and my parents share a house, so it will be here, but it will be late spring/early when we host it. I didn’t have one with my daughter because we had just lost our whole friend group, but my family was ultra-supportive and helpful. This time, my mom and best friend are hosting it, and we have a whole group of people that will come. I, personally, believe in co-ed showers, so our boys and girls that we like will be invited.

I've always known baby showers to be hosted by a family member or close friend. With my daughter, I had a shower thrown by my MIL and one by my best friend. This time around, my best friend has already started planning my shower, with the help of my sister. It's still early, so maybe someone is planning to throw you one and just hasnt mentioned it yet.

Normally people volunteer but I don’t think it would be bad to throw your own or ask one of your moms or a close friend or sister

My problem is, I don't have any friends, and this will be my 5th baby even tho my other 4 are all girls amd this one is a boy. I dont expect one. 
But for your situation, my suggestion is the one person that you dont mind letting them host accept their offer and politely decline the rest.

I hosted both of my baby showers. Was pretty easy. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I had a baby shower with my first and sprinkle for my second. This one I’m only having a diaper bash.
