2 Formula Feeds a Day

My 6 month old is exclusively formula fed, we started him in solids from 4 months as per pediatrician advise. Now he drinks only 2 formula feeds a day morning and night / each 6 oz. rest of the day he is full with solids - I give him cereals, veg and fruit purées, is this normal.
