Put on BC pill to help me conceive

Hello all,

This is my first post. I was wanting to know if any of you have been told to go on the pill to regulate my cycles. I’ve had a crazy past 4/5 cycles ranging from 18-40 days. More often than not they are coming every 18-20 days.

I have never gotten a positive opk every and wasted so much money on them! When I went for my annual in Jan 2018 at the time my cycles ranged from 24-30ish days. My doc said those seemed healthy and I was just happy to seem like I was “normal” when in my heart I didn’t think so.

Fast forward to last month. I made an appointment after we have been ttc for over a year and a half. At this time my cycles were going crazy coming ranging in the 18-40 days that I previously talked about. In a way it was good timing bc I think they took me seriously now. The doc ordered labs and told me to do an ultrasound.

My doctor was busy but I wanted to schedule a follow up ASAP rather than getting a phone call or possibly having to go out of my way to get the results. I scheduled an appointment with the nurse practitioner and she said the results were good (although I never took the cycle day 3 labs.) They said my amh was slightly elevated but I guess due to my ultrasound and testosterone they ruled out PCOS??? I’m not sure if I remember that correctly. I asked if I needed to take cycle day 3 labs bc it so happened the day of my appointment was my cycle day 3. She said I could, but she recommended I go on the pill for 2 months.

My major concern is will this work for me?? After my two packs of bc my hubby and I will be at the 2 year ttc mark. It’s so crazy to hear that I need to be on bc to ovulate better. I know I’ve heard people do it but it’s different when you are told to do it. Anyone can you share your experience if you have had a similar one? I’d love to read about them.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post!
