Can pregnant women eat egg yolk?

I know we can’t have raw eggs, but i wasn’t sure if egg yolk counted as raw egg or not? Like if you make a sunny side up egg, can you eat the yolk? or does the yolk have to be cooked?

In the UK, the NHS now say it's safe to have soft/runny eggs but only if they have the British lion stamp, not sure about rest of the world

The raw yolk is what they are referring to when they say “raw eggs”. To be safe eggs should be completely cooked, but I’m sure there are people who still eat runny eggs while pregnant.

I ate soft poached eggs and hollandaise my entire pregnancy. My baby is fine.

I wouldn't risk it. I make sure all my stuff is fully cooked. Baby is more important to me than that.

“No” but do what works for you. If you’re in the US, you can buy pasteurized eggs, I believe they have a stamp on them. Europeans irradiate eggs which makes them safe to eat. 
I eat fried eggs (raw yolk cooked whites) multiple times a week, I’m not concerned.

Raw eggs is one of the very few things I refuse to eat. Simply because there’s too much risk involved. Just because things “can go fine” if you eat them, doesn’t mean you should.
