What are you personally ashamed of, on behalf of the United States and its people?

We have a research report coming up soon in my World History class. We are challenged to find a “black eye” in US history and write a report on it. Some examples given were:

-Slavery

-Treatment of the Natives

-Certain wars

Do you all have any suggestions or opinions? I would prefer to do something powerful, yet unique. Thank you!

EDIT: Anyone from ANY country is allowed to input, even if it is about something horrible that your own country caused. If that makes sense 😊
