What is the most unromantic thing that has happened in your relationship that solidified your love/commitment?

I’ll go first 😊
For almost 72 hours, my usually strong and independent hubby has been violently ill...out of both ends. Tonight, he not only puked, but managed to ruin his favorite basketball shorts. I have never seen someone so defeated.
All the while...I sat next to him, rubbed his back and reminded him to breathe, cleaned him up and put him in the shower, and scrubbed everything in sight with Lysol (don’t want to spread it to anyone!). 
I LOVE this man and when shit gets rough (literally), it makes me love him even more. I know if it were the other way around, he would be wiping my tushy too.

Losing our first baby (stillbirth). Going through something like that changes you, and can change your relationship. It made ours stronger. He has been my rock and I hope I have been his! We've been through the worst together and are working through the grief together and are still able to find joy together. He's my person!

Honestly and unfortunately. Our miscarriage last year. It brought us so much closer together emotionally, and after that we promised we would do our best to be by eachother's side whenever something  as intense as that happened again. Before it happened, we were pretty good. Like an average couple, you know. We cared about eachother's feelings, we took care of each other if we got sick, all those things, but we had never actually gone through something that broke us, so we pretty much minded our own feelings when it came to most things. Really glad we came out stronger from it, as we knew some couples and married people that ended things because they would blame the miscarriage on eachother.

Two surgeries - the first was my husbands surgery and I had to pack and clean his wound until it healed...and let’s just say it was in a very unflattering area but I didn’t mind one bit. I’d do anything for my man!
Second major one was my surgery a year ago - what was supposed to be a small surgery turned into a more complicated one and thus my recovery was difficult. My husband had to help me use the bathroom and get me up and into bed at all hours of the night. He took such great care of me.
He’s also sat with me through my severe abdominal pain attacks and sickness, I’ve helped him through his depression and right now we are coping with his ailing father who has terminal cancer and my husbands been sick for a few months with symptoms that seem like fibromyalgia but we are still getting tests done to figure it out. 
We’ve faced some challenges but one thing we can always count on is each other 😻 we are blessed in so many other ways! I love him to the moon 🌙 and back, and am so grateful to have him in my life. ❤️

I have 2.. 6 weeks after my hubby and I met he too became violently ill for 2 days. He wanted to go to work and tough it out and I strongly encouraged him to stay ( he got sick like right when he pulled up to my house) I cleaned up his puke and fed him whatever he could keep down and just held him and loved him; made him a bath and he told me in his delirium that I looked the most beautiful to him in that moment.. messy bun like two day old messy messy bun, seats and an oversized T-shirt.. 
2. He is a houndsman, we go hunting every other weekend. 6 weeks/ 7 weeks/ 8 weeks pregnant the nausea was for real and I would make it down the bumpy backroads just fine until we would come to a stop. Then it would HIT me! One time it was so bad it was coming out every time we stopped. He would get

What opened us up on an amazing intimate level was from our missed miscarriage last August. Before that time, we just always went with the flow. What happened, happened and we didn’t ask questions. But when we found out we had lost our baby.. it brought out the best of the love and support we have for each other. We really pulled together and became stronger as a couple. For that, I am thankful.

My husband sleeps with his mouth open and snores a lot. Lol the first night we slept together it woke me up and I remembered thinking “dammit I’m gonna fall in love with you”

Our miscarriage a few years ago, I was almost 6 months. I'm normally not a very needy person and I hate being vulnerable but after the DNC I could hardly do anything plus emotionally I was done. my husband did everything and took care of calling all our family and friends. It was a rough time but it brought us closer. It was also the first time I had seen him cry, just grieving together in silence I think bonded us more than anything had before.

Two things honestly. 
The first was his car wreck in 2017. We met at our favorite Chinese restaurant when he was on his way home from work. Afterwards I was driving behind him on the interstate, out of nowhere a car going 30 miles under the speed limited switched lanes, jumping in front of my husband with no warning at all. My husband (fiancé at the time) reared him so hard that both cars were totaled. 
I don’t even remember pulling over, or putting my car in park. All I remember is running down the side of the interstate, and banging on his window. I cried so hard when he unlocked the door and I saw that he was ok. 
The second was unfortunately our second trimester miscarriage,that happened after ttc for a year. We went to the doctor for a normal check up, I was 18 week,it was the day before my anatomy scan was scheduled and two days before thanksgiving(2018). He was so strong when they couldn’t find her heart beat and sent us to the hospital for a scan. 
He held my hand in the car and said,” the doctor said she’s probably hiding. I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about.” (We we’re certain it was a girl). 
We got to the hospital and they used a hand held scanner that wasn’t working so they sent me up stairs for a better look with a real machine. The tech was scanning away and my husband told me,” look she’s gotten so big.” But his eyes were filled with so much pain and he was trying not to cry cause we both realized she was gone. He held himself together while they relocated us again, and while the doctor explained what happened and what our options were. 
She left us alone to discuss what we wanted to do and the second she was out the door he was holding me, and crying with me. The first thing he said was,” This isn’t your fault so don’t for one second think that.”
He set with me the entire next day while I was being prepped for my D&E. Again he held me and cried with me. For the first week he laid in bed with me, only leaving my side to fix food and go to the bathroom. He cried with me the entire time. I was surrounded by a sea of women after my miscarriage, and I honestly feel like he was the only one who understands what I went through.
It’s still hard and I still break down, but when it happens he tells me to let it out. Whether that’s crying my eyes out, or screaming at the top of my lungs while cussing. 
Both these things have showed me how much I truly love him, and how much he truly loves me. They’ve shown me how strong our relationship and bond are.

Jail and struggle. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Not proud but it’s the truth. We were honestly partners in crime. He just got caught. That didn’t stop me from loving him. Trust me. I really really tried. I knew he wasn’t good for me. He got out and we moved into a small 1 BR apartment because he had no where to go and I couldn’t bring an ex con home. We struggled it out. We had no one but ourselves. Though we were both stupid, we’ve both come a long way. As people, parents and as a couple. 8 years later, I’d like to think we have it all. Our health, each other and a beautiful rambunctious 2 year old daughter. 💕
