When do newborns start sleeping longer than 2 hrs? (Shes 10days old)

Mine was 2 hours then once my milk came in it was 3 then 3.5-4 now🤷‍♀️ she’s 2 weeks old? But I also had enough milk for twins? Lol so far so good. I was setting my alarm for 3.5 but was told not to wake her unless it’s like 4.5 and she would wake when she was hungry. They were right she makes little noises and restless. I stopped setting my alarm now lol and still wake up to check on her. Guess all babies are different

Hi! Pediatric sleep consultant here! There isn’t an official time, as all babies develop differently. Without knowing how old your child is, as the term newborn is used by people to describe both a three day old and a three-month-old, there should be a longish block of sleep after baby goes down for the night, something between 3 to 5 hours. If your baby is only a week old and waking up every two hours it’s probably out of hunger but if your baby is three months old and still doing it, it may be more for the soothing because they have developed a sleep association between nursing and sleeping as opposed to actual hunger.

I wish my 12 week old would sleep. He still wakes every 2 hours. I might get lucky and get a 4 or 5 hour stretch every once in awhile lol

I've never woken my daughter to eat so she's always slept more 2 hours at a time.

Mines 21 weeks and after a few months of sleeping well is back to waking every few hours
