What do babies wear when out?

I bought quite a lot of baby clothes already but just realised they are all onesies or sleep suits... do babies wear jumpers? How would you dress a newborn for going outside in winter temperature? (7 degrees c)

I mostly dressed our first in all sleepers for the first 6-8 months. Dressing her in “cute” clothes became more fun a practical around 10-12 months. I plan on dressing our second in sleepers to keep her warm as well.

Zip footed pajamas, and bunting for outings. They basically live in zip pajamas for the first three months, and them slowly branch out

Pretty much exclusively sleep suits for the first few months! It’s easy and warm. We had a few outfits mostly for church.

I live in Ohio so it gets really cold but with my first she was in mostly long sleeve onsies with pants in her carrier. All we did after putting her in the carried was cover her in a blanket and then zip up her carrier cover. She was always warm

My daughter was born in February and we really liked making sure she always wore layers so if she was wearing pants and shirt there was always a jacket over top and onesie until the shirt. Or if she wore a sleeper we'd have a onesie underneath. She always had a heavy blanket covering her too and a hat.

Consider getting a baby bunting if you're gonna be going outside a lot when he's very young (taking him to daycare in the mornings or something). Probably not necessary all the time but I still got one just in case.

I have matching pants to go with the onesies I have and I also have a fussy romper/jumper not sure the term for when we go out. I also plan on getting some warmer blankets to put over baby when going to or from the car and if we’re visiting.

Yes sleepsuits for the most part.. With my other boys I had a couple cute overalls that i would put on top of sleepers sometimes and for my daughter I did the same same but with dresses.. Put them over sleepers if I really wanted her/them to look "fancy" that day 😂 .. I only do a really cute outfit for their church presentation and that's it.. The rest of the time their in comfy clothes for at least the first 6-9 months
