How necessary is a changing table and glider?

Question

I can’t for the life of me find a used glider and changing table for sale. (I am all about bargains) and the ones online are kind of ridiculously priced. (I know I can keep it for future babies but still having a tough time coughing up so much $$$ for them)

We are just using a changing pad on top of the dresser, changing tables not necessary. And glider just depends I’m not getting one at first because I’ll probably just nurse her in bed

I can’t do without a rocking chair. They’re life savers for me, but the changing table is whatever.

I got a crib and changing table at IKEA last weekend for under $150. I love them.

I love both. They’re not necessary but definitely make our life easier. The crib we have comes with a changing table and we still use it to change my toddler. We bought the same crib for our second since our toddler still uses it. 
It’s just so much more comfortable to have a place to change the baby without hurting your back changing on places like the floor or the couch or the bed. Like I said, not necessary but definitely makes life easier. 
And the glider is just a nice comfortable place to nurse. Nursing, especially for FTMs, has a learning curve and it can be really rough on your back. You can definitely sit in a comfortable couch if you have that but rocking or gliding can help put the baby to sleep even when you’re not nursing. Again, not necessary but definitely makes life so much easier.

I am obsessed with changing tables but my back isn’t very strong and I’m chunky so bending over the baby to change their diaper is very stressful for me. I got my changing table at a consignment sale for $60 and I don’t regret a single penny of that. My glider I only used for a week but that’s because breastfeeding was a huge fail for me. 😩

I loooooooooved my changing tables. I put everything on the shelves underneath. Diapers lotion wipes soaps etc. Its really on preference though. I bought my sister one and she never used it lol

I would definitely check out local Facebook yard sale pages and thrift stores. I found some great cheap buys - 20$ for a glider, I just had to clean it

I found a nice changing table at Walmart for $60, which I felt was a decent price. Look at garage sales and antique stores for a glider if you really want one. We got an older wooden glider super cheap and added our own cushions to it.

Neither are necessary. You’ll start using any available flat surface for changing, and nursing anywhere you are :)
