period but no period

okay so yesterday when I went to the bathroom and I would wipe there was red and brown mixture ( blood ) several times! threw out the day. I am on birth control and haven’t had sex in over 2 months.. but my period is 5 days late. so I slept in a pad and there is nothing there. what is going on ? Is this normal
