Is my scar open?

Question

I have no irritation or no side effects besides overall soreness. I just got home from the hospital today and asked my husband to look at it and he shows me this. Is it open? is this normal? The hospital told me my cut was fine and healing perfect but looks weird to me. Btw im 3 days post partum.

My incision opened up a little at 10 days pp. Just have them check it for you, if you have any yellow drainage they probably would put you on antibiotics, clean it and put a dressing on. You shouldn’t pull on it though as that could be why its re-opening.

Looks like they didn’t use staples or stitches and just used glue. Pulling up on the skin can cause the glue to separate. It doesn’t look infected at all but if your concerned I would have them look at it. 3days post partum are you still in the hospital?? My staples only stayed in for 6 days then they were removed and no bandages or butterfly bandages were used after that time.

My scar never looked like that, seems to be opening in the centre. I would go back and request some butterfly stitches, and a dressing for it.
