Has anyone had the injection too help the placenta come away itself withought you doing it on your own.

I had my daughter 11 months ago and I had complications with my placenta it got stuck after I'd gave birth. I got it manually removed. I'm now pregnant with second baby and wanting too know if the injection helped in the second labour too stop complications and blood loss from happening? Did you feel the injection go in after birth or did you not feel it at all due too gas and air etc. Did the placenta just come away with the injection?
