Placenta???

Question

How long after babies birth did you have you're placenta?? 
Does it come out straight away or was there a wait?? 
Do you get contractions again? Or do you just feel the need to push again??

I had an epidural so I didn't feel the need to push but it took a minute or two after she came out and it came out I felt it like "bloop" out of me lol

I had a C-Section so when they got the baby out they took out the placenta before closing me up.

It really depends, my first it flopped out right away, with my second it did not want to come and they had to give me medicine to make it come. The slower it comes though the more bleeding you’ll have. Most of the time it’s just a few minutes.

If they give you pitocin it comes withing 20 mins, sometimes within minutes after birth. Without pit I believe it can take up to an hour to come on its own.

About 20 minutes after my baby, my midwife said it’s time to deliver the placenta. I didn’t feel any contractions. She gave a little tug and told me to push. I was holding my daughter in my arms and gave a half assed mini push, I was too distracted. It slid out super easily and I barely felt it. You’re still very open from baby, and it’s slippery. It doesn’t hurt.

Minutes after and I truly do not remember “delivering” the placenta either time. I was just so focused on my brand new baby laying on my chest. I definitely didn’t push, I think the nurses pushed on my stomach though.
