How to lose weight as a vegan?

Gained 50 lbs last year! Became a vegan for the animals but also my health.

Cut processed junk, incorporate whole foods. Cut down on fats and oil. Count macros!

Try to stay away from vegan junk  food ( once a week or every two weeks is fine ) and eat a lot of whole feeds and filling meals don’t starve yourself. Lots of veggies and legumes and healthy grains ! Fruits are great but veggies are better ❤️ .

Focus on whole foods and proper serving sizes.  While many find weight loss easy after transitioning to a vegan diet, it’s really not difficult to gain weight either (I’ve done both!).  If you’re focusing on grains, legumes, nuts, veggies and fruits you should be in great shape, just avoid the processed junk if you can!

For me I think dairy was the thing that effected my weight the most. Lentils are a great filler in meals to exchange for other things you would have. They are high in protein and low in fat. 
A meal that’s filling but not fattening is a curry with just chickpeas, lentils and onions. It’s something you can make loads of in one go. That way you can get batches of it for future meals so it’ll make other cooking days easier.

I had to cut out all the junk food I was eating and I mean allll of it. I eat junk food like once a week or so but personally I eat a shit ton of chick peas, broccoli, rice, cauliflower, hummus, etc. my diet is kinda plain but I’m in college and that’s the cheapest vegan stuff. I eat enough and I lost like 30 pounds this past year. Good lunch girl you got this

Weight lifting. I’ve been vegan 11 years with no weight issues. My fiancé has also been vegan 11 years and when he hit 27 years old, his metabolism changed and he started to gain a little weight. We both started weight lifting and immediately saw massive changes in our bodies. No change in diet. We mostly eat what we want, when we want. (Lots of veggies, fruit, beans, whole foods but also plenty of beyond meat products, bread, grains, eating out)
