I put English, but Psychology would actually be the best option. With a psychology degree you could be a psychologist, therapist, social worker, psychiatrist, school counselor... but that all depends what your focus is on while in school and what you WANT to do. College isn’t about choosing what would be easiest. It’s about doing what you actually enjoy, are good at and are passionate about. If you love English, study English, if you love history, study history. So what is right for YOU, not what you think will be easiest because like it’s about the effort you put into it and you’ll probably change your mind a thousand times anyway lol.

Interesting result - I've heard there's not much you can do with a psychology qualification. But that was years ago and maybe the person was naive (even though they act like theyre always right)

You can spin an English degree to fit in almost any where - as a secretary, as a teacher, as a telemarketer, as a technical writer, a journalist, an author, a scriptwriter, etc. Understanding the written word is something that a lot of companies are looking for nowadays because other majors don't always get the "normal" applications that we do - sure they can put together a lab analysis or make a presentation, but can they write an email? My husband is a bio major and he constantly has to have me read over his emails because he doesn't understand written communication mannerisms the way I do and he'll often come off sounding passive-aggressive without my help. But my whole point is that you HAVE to be willing to look at jobs outside of what you think of as applicable to an English degree. My husband's company SPECIFICALLY looks for people who have English degrees to work on their technical writing - and he works in the medical field, so you'd think having a background in medicine would make more sense.

Coming from an English major, history minor - not a lot out there unless you are brilliant, have something specific in mind or want to go very far in your education.
