Students smoking in school
In England, at least in the area I’m from, smoking is still very common and usually most people start in their teen years. There were a lot of students who would sneakily smoke on their school lunch break, and when they got caught the consequences weren’t really that bad. Sometimes students would get detentions, teachers would phone home etc, and sometimes nothing would be done expect from confiscating the cigarettes & lighter. The issue wasn’t taken very seriously. But this post isn’t about punishing the students, it’s about helping them.
Should schools do more to HELP students who they catch smoking? As we all know, smoking is an addiction and can be very hard to stop. It has awful effects on our health, especially if it’s started going. What should schools do to help these students?
