8 week old still eating every hour?!

My son is breastfeeding every hour for parts of the day and about every 2 hours at night. Sometimes 15 times a day. Is this happening to anyone else? Help?

My son is 8 weeks old too and he’ll eat every 1 to 2 hours during the day, but he’ll go 6-8 hour stretches at night. He’s a good sleeper so far and is probably why he eats so often during the day. I also give him a bottle of expressed milk at night right before bedtime. He averages about 10 feeds a day now. 15 seems like an awful lot.   How long is he at the breast during a feed? Do you alternate breasts at each feed or do you offer him both?

This is NORMAL and in fact you are more likely to have success breastfeeding long term with this frequency. It will help you have a great supply. Do not try to stretch it out or put baby on a schedule - that will drop your milk supply.

My LO eats every hour and a half during the day and in the evening she eats more often. But she does have a 5-7 hr stretch and then a 3 hr stretch after that at night. I’ve been wondering why my LO is hungry so often but I BF on demand so I’m trying to just follow what she needs and wants.

Wow. That’s a lot. Maybe bring it up to your pediatrician. He may be hungry ? Maybe have to pump after BF to give him more in the bottle ? 
I do know they go through growth spurts. 
My 7 week old was going 4 hours throughout the day , but lately she’s been every 3 hours , but goes 6/7 hours at night 🤷🏼‍♀️. I’d rather feed a lot during the day to sleep at night.,but every hour is a lot ?

My baby is doing this too. I noticed this weekend that it didn’t seem like he was fully emptying me so I started pumping after he nursed and when he drank that bottle most times he was happy for a couple hours then. But since my husband is only home on the weekends I’m not able to pump as much as I’d like during the week.

Yes, same here.  Bringing it up at her next appointment. Every so often I get a 3 hour stretch of sleep (day or night) but if she’s awake she really wants to eat. She seems to have good diaper count and stuff but it does feel excessive to me.
