What are hot dogs made of?

Just because I laughed randomly about this over the last few days, I figured I share this little story.

Im having a conversation with my soon to be 9 year old son. I’ve just started eating meat again after 3 years. I’ve never been a big fan of hot dogs and limit the amount I feed my children. (1-3 a year) We saw “Nathan’s Ball Park Wieners” at the store and I thought why not... & bought some.

The next Day, we’re about 1 hour into a car ride. He’s asking all sorts of questions at this point.

Son-“Mom, is it weird that people eat hot dogs?”

Me-“No, it’s not weird, it’s a personal choice.”

Son-“What animal are they made of?”

Me-“Pig, usually, sometimes cow, chicken or turkey.”

Son-“hmmm”

Silence.

Son-“I think it’s weird that we eat ball parts and shaved pig wieners.”

Im thinking:

First of all, it’s ball park. Not balls and parts.

Secondly, Pig WIENERS??

Wieners aren’t even furry.

Who said they were wieners?

Penis wiener? Or wiener wiener?

Thirdly, what in the actual fuck, son 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

Me-“Lets rewind a bit sweet boy, I’ll explain more.”
