First fertility specialist appt - what to expect?

My doctor referred me to the fertility specialist. My appt is next Tuesday (the day I expect AF). The scheduler told me that was perfect because they would want to have this consultation done in order for me to come back for an ultrasound on cd 6. She said they have to do this ultrasound between cd 6 and 12.

I’m still crossing my fingers that I get a BFP before this appointment but I’m nervous. What should I expect at the consultation? Is it standard to do an u/s at cd 6? I keep reading about people doing that on cd 3 so I’m confused.

Also, my fiancé will be on a work trip for the consultation but will be with me for the first real appt on cd 6.

Have any of you ever gone to the RE alone? Will that be an issue? I know they’ll want to check him too but I’m hoping he’ll order any tests without him there. I’m 42 so I’m pretty sure whatever the issue is, it’s me. ☹️

Idk, I’m just nervous and anxious and don’t know what all to expect on this journey. Any of your experiences would be so helpful to me right now.
