Weightless Surgery

Brandi

*long post* so I have always been on the bigger side. My whole life I struggles with weight, not because I wasn’t active because lord knows I was always in some kind of sport or something growing up. Well high school hit and me and my boyfriend split and I lost a bunch of weight (not the healthy way I might add) started feeling good about myself and everything. Then after I graduated my grandmother got sick and I put it all and then some back on. Tried and tried to lose it again and nothing was working. So at 21 I was diagnosed with pcos and thyroid problems. Making it even next to impossible to lose weight. Then in 2017 my mom who was also overweight and a diabetic had the gastric sleeve surgery. She did really well with it and lost about 60 lbs the first few months. She was taken off all her diabetic medication and everything. Well in the beginning of 2018 I had labs done and was told I was prediabetic and needed to get things under control quick or I was heading down the same road as my mother. Which was not where I wanted to be. So I worked all year losing the weight. Well trying to. I lost a total of 24 lb from February to July. Cut out sweets and pop and carbs. Basically everything that was a vegetable and meat lol well my labs were done again and they still weren’t any better. So in August I started looking into my last option, surgery. Well I was a candidate and September 17 almost a year from my mom I had the surgery. It was scary and I took longer to heal then she did and was miserable. I’m now almost 6 months out and I have officially lost 100 lbs. which is a lot to lose at once. The point of this post is that I just want to say I feel amazing. I was at 338 at the beginning of my surgery and I’m now down to 237 and I feel like a new person.
