🍳Have you eaten over easy eggs while pregnant?🍳

I'm 14w2d & wanting some over easy eggs so bad, but so many say they are not good for you while pregnant. I've been reading on it a little bit & it's so conflicting. With my first pregnancy I never ate them till after I had the baby. Just curious about you ladies.

Hello. I’m not sure where you got that from... eggs are a healthy and safe food. I think you could be thinking of raw/under cooked or poor quality eggs. If the eggs have the lion stamp they should probably be safe to eat runny, if not then just make sure they’re sufficiently cooked so they’re very hot. The good news is you can have them :) x

I know it’s frowned upon but I did, and often.  Sometimes I cooked them to O/M but it’s seriously my favorite food and the risk of eating contaminated eggs is low.  I personally have never been sick from eggs, ever, so I made a decision and took my chances.  Now my son’s favorite food is eggs, lol 🤷🏼‍♀️.

I definitely ate them while I was pregnant and my daughter is fine. Most eggs in the US are pasteurized and I was making them myself (clean kitchen, I could visually inspect the eggs etc) The concern is salmonella (which comes from chicken feces) so if your eggs are clean and don’t have poop on them, it’s a really low risk. I absolutely ate eggs and hollandaise sauce while pregnant and we’re just fine.

I have my own chickens so I know the eggs are super fresh.  It's all about your trust in the supplier.
