Gerber Life Insurance Policy?

My husband and I are expecting our son next week and are so excited! We received a packet for a Gerber Life Insurance policy in the mail and were wondering how many parents carry life insurance on their children?
We have been setting aside $20-$25 weekly into a savings account for him when he graduates so he will have a chunk of money to work with. We planned this money being used for college or a home one day. We wouldn’t give him the whole chunk of money at 18 but he would be aware it’s his. 
What interests me most about the Gerber policy is it guarantees coverage into adulthood even if he’s diagnosed with something later on down the road that will make him ineligible for life insurance as an adult.
Thoughts? Opinions?

I thought about Gerber insurance for my son as well but the reviews I read on the company werent so hot. I would recommend looking into a local insurance or with a company you already have insurance with. The rates should be pretty reasonable. When I looked into Gerber insurance they gave me a quote for my son that came to $20 which to me seems a little high. My son is healthy as a horse and to me $20 is kinda high but it alsl depends on how much the policy is worth. Im 27 years old and I have a life insurance policy and I pay $11 a month and my policy is worth 250k.

We have a whole life policy through Country Financial on my daughter. It is a solid policy and the dividends paid go towards additional insurance to the initial amount. 
Talk to your local insurance agent as they can go over all the different policies and how they work.

I advise getting a financial advisor. There are accounts that accrue greater interest over the years. We are still looking into the correct one. Make sure it isn’t strictly a college savings account. They have limits.

I believe ALL parents should have life insurance policies on their children as well as themselves. We have two life insurance policies on our daughter.👌🏾👍🏾 Neither of them are Gerber. I have heard bad reviews on Gerber, however, I am not entirely sure if everything we have heard is true. Life insurance is VERY important though as well savings accounts, college savings accounts, living wills, etc.
