White noise?

How many of you are playing white noise all night for your babies? I recently bought a Marpac Dohm sound machine and my baby loves one of the sounds so much and is now sleeping through the night. I’m concerned about playing white noise for so long and damaging hearing.

Yes always for naps and night time, she wakes up very easily without it. Research has show anything above 85-90 decibels for more than 8 hours can cause damage. I follow taking Cara babies on Instagram and she suggests playing it as loud as your shower, so loud but not loud enough to hurt your ears. Around 75-77 decibels. I downloaded a decibel meter app lol

We use one all night. When I turn it on it signals we are getting ready for bed. My
Floors freak like crazy so it definitely helps...

We have used one for years.. we use alexia for gentle rain sounds. Used it while pregnant and I think he recognized the sound after he was born. ( idk for sure) He sleeps in our room so he only hears it at night. It isn't any louder than a shower so I think it is ok. He does sleep through the night most of the time.

Speaking of this...my girl just woke up out of a dead sleep because she heard an older sibling shut their bedroom door and her sound machine had shut off at it’s 60 minute max before I could get to it. Does anyone recommend or have one that plays all night?

My baby hears the same time since she was in my belly... she has one next to her crib and one in the stroller... when she hears it she calms down... for me is a routine... she she sees her owl.. she smile..

We use the same machine all night and for naps. We keep it closer to 60-65 dB and it works enough to mask our creaky floors and general noise as we get ready for bed/work.

I've got a white noise app on my phone that I use during naps. For night time, we use a different white noise app on my Kindle. We have used this since night 1. Seems to work really well for her. Myself too, as I used to sleep with a radio on before she was here.

I do...baby loves it but its more for me. Stops me from waking up with every noise he makes

We use the portable hushh sound machine and it’s AMAZING. That was a total game changer for us for helping her sleep through the night. I use it for naps and night sleep. It’s not loud enough to damage their hearing unless it was literally right at their ears.
