Can somebody with HSV-1 kiss a baby?
I know that newborns and generally infants of any age are extremely susceptible to HSV-1, but I’m confused on what this means. I’ve had a few cold sores in my life, so I know I have HSV-1. Does this mean I can’t EVER kiss my baby, or does it mean I only can’t kiss her when I have a breakout? (I only get cold sores once a year or every couple years). I’m 21W1D. When she is born can I kiss her? Or am I not allowed to kiss her because I have HSV-1, even if I don’t have a breakout? What I’m asking is can I kiss her if I don’t have a cold sore?
